  • Witness 5: The Genealogies of Jesus

My family tree goes like this, Samuel Adéyemí, the son of Joel Adetunji, the son of Samuel Adetutu, the son of David Adeleke, the son of Awodiwin…the son of Adam, the son of God. Between Adam and me, there are 11,150,372,599,265,311,570,767,859,136,324,180,752,990,207 fathers spanning 142 generations (I knew you didn’t read the numbers 😀😀😀).

However, the Christmas story is filled with awe-inspiring moments, from angelic announcements to shepherds worshiping under starlit skies. But hidden within the pages of Scripture is a witness often overlooked: the genealogies of Jesus (Matthew 1:1-17; Luke 3:23-38).

These lists of names might seem mundane at first glance, but they reveal God’s masterful plan woven through generations. The list isn’t just a showcase of saints; it includes flawed individuals like Rahab, a former prostitute, and King David, who sinned yet repented. Each name is a testament to God’s grace and His ability to use imperfect people for His perfect purpose. You are not  damaged beyond God using you.

Matthew begins with these words: “The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham” (Matthew 1:1). This genealogy highlights Jesus’ connection to God’s covenant with Israel, showing how God kept His promise to bless all nations through Abraham’s lineage (Genesis 12:3). God’s promise is sacrosanct.

Luke’s genealogy takes a broader view: “…the son of Enos, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God” (Luke 3:38). By tracing Jesus back to Adam, Luke emphasizes His role as the Savior of all humanity, reminding us that His mission extends beyond cultural and national boundaries. This is a proof whether on earth here on the heavens above, Jesus is Lord and Saviour.

These genealogies serve as a profound witness to God’s faithfulness. Through centuries of waiting, wars, and exile, God’s promise remained unbroken. They also remind us that Christmas is about more than a single moment; it’s the culmination of a story that began long before Bethlehem.

This yuletide, let’s pause to reflect on the rich heritage behind the manger. Jesus’ family tree is a story of redemption, hope, and divine promise—an eternal witness to the greatest story ever told.

    See you tomorrow

  • Witness 4 – The Creation.

Welcome to day 5 of Annual Blogmas. The yearly hype for Christmas.

The theme of the year is Witnesses of Christmas.

Today’s witnesses are the creations namely the animals (donkeys and sheep) and the stars.

…and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. Luke 2:7 (NIV)

The above statement was said by the angels to the shepherds in field tending their sheep and they are led to Jesus’ maternity ward – a manger – donkey resting place; what a befitting maternity ward for a prince!

But the lesson for us there is one, we are without excuse. We can’t deny  hearing about the birth of Jesus. If we want, the sheep will testify against us.

Two, we must humble ourselves under the mighty hand of Yahweh and in due He will lift us up.

The second creation that witness Jesus’ birth are the stars.

…and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.” Mat 2:2 (NIV)

The maggi followed the star to get to Jesus where they worshipped and give him gifts.

The star surrounded itself to be PR for Christmas.

Where the bleating and neighing of sheep and donkey can’t reached, the ray of star can.

Are you available for Master’s uses?

How many have you directed to Christ by your conducts, speech, dressing, and personal dealings with individual?

    See you tomorrow

  • Witness 3 – Moses

    Witness 3 – Moses

Moses, the greatest prophet of The Old Testament, not only led the Israelites through the Exodus but also, unknowingly, foretold the coming of Jesus Christ through the help of the Holy Spirit. In today’s post, we delve into the prophetic words of Moses and extract valuable lessons for our understanding of Christ’s birth.

Hidden within the pages of the Pentateuch, Moses’ prophecy in Deuteronomy 18:15 sheds light on the arrival of a future Prophet: “The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your brothers—it is to him you shall listen.”

Furthermore, this prophecy takes on a profound meaning when we consider the parallels between Moses and Jesus. Both were chosen leaders, mediators of covenants, and brought messages from God. Moses foreshadowed the ultimate Prophet, Jesus Christ, whose birth fulfilled the promise of a divine Messenger

    Now these are some lessons:
    1. Divine Continuity:
Moses’ prophecy underscores the continuity of God’s plan throughout history. That which God has started with you, He will not stop with but continue with your offsprings

    2. Promise Fulfilled in Christ:
The fulfillment of Moses’ prophecy in the birth of Jesus emphasizes God’s faithfulness to His promises. It teaches us to trust in God’s timing and to recognize His hand working across generations.

    3. Jesus as the Ultimate Mediator:
Both Moses and Jesus served as mediators between God and His people. Moses mediated the Old Covenant, while Jesus established the New Covenant through His birth, life, and sacrificial death.

    4. Listening to the Divine Message:
Moses instructed the Israelites to listen to the future Prophet. As Christians, we are called to heed the teachings of Jesus, recognizing Him as the ultimate authority in matters of faith and salvation.

    5. Prophetic Harmony in Scripture:
Moses’ prophecy highlights the harmonious nature of God’s revelation in the Bible. Exploring connections between Old Testament prophecies and their New Testament fulfillment deepens our understanding of God’s redemptive plan. That’s God can be wholly trusted to fulfill His words

Finally as, Moses, a humble leader chosen by God, unknowingly unveiled a prophetic glimpse into the birth of Jesus Christ. We should remember that God did not forget you. At the right time, what He has promised, He will fulfill it.

Thanks for reading, sharing, and commenting.

  • Witness 2 – Holy Spirit

    Witness 2 – Holy Spirit

The story of the birth of Jesus Christ is a cornerstone of Christian faith, intricately woven with the divine presence of the Holy Spirit. As we reflect on this sacred event, there are profound lessons for Christians to draw inspiration from.

    1. Divine Intervention:

The conception of Jesus was not a result of human endeavor alone, but a miraculous intervention by the Holy Spirit. This emphasizes the importance of surrendering to divine guidance in our lives, trusting that God’s plans surpass our understanding.

Bible Verse: “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy—the Son of God.” – Luke 1:35

    2. Humility and Obedience:

Mary’s humble acceptance of the angel Gabriel’s message showcases the virtue of humility and obedience. As Christians, we are called to emulate this spirit of submission to God’s will, even when it might seem beyond our comprehension.

Bible Verse: “And Mary said, ‘Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.’” – Luke 1:38

    3. Embracing the Unexpected:

Mary and Joseph faced unexpected circumstances, yet they embraced their roles in God’s plan. This teaches Christians to remain open to unexpected turns in life, trusting that God can use even the most challenging situations for His purpose.

Bible Verse: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.” – Isaiah 55:8

    4. Guidance in Times of Uncertainty:

The Holy Spirit guided Joseph in a dream, providing clarity in a time of uncertainty. This serves as a reminder for Christians to seek spiritual discernment and trust the guidance of the Holy Spirit during challenging moments in our own lives.

Bible Verse: “But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, ‘Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.’” – Matthew 1:20

    5. Joyful Witness:

The arrival of Jesus brought joy to the world. Christians are called to be witnesses of this joy, sharing the transformative power of Christ’s love with others and radiating positivity in a world that often yearns for hope.

Bible Verse: “And the angel said to them, ‘Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.’” – Luke 2:10

    6. God With Us:

The name “Emmanuel,” meaning “God with us,” encapsulates the essence of Christ’s birth. This truth remains a source of comfort for Christians, reminding us that God is present in every aspect of our lives, offering solace in times of joy and trials.

Bible Verse: “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel (which means, God with us).” – Matthew 1:23

In conclusion, the story of the Holy Spirit’s role in the birth of Jesus Christ is a testament to the divine plan of redemption. As Christians, let us draw inspiration from the humility, obedience, and trust exemplified by Mary and Joseph, while keeping in mind the comforting words of scripture that guide our faith journey. May the lessons from this sacred narrative deepen our relationship with the Holy Spirit and inspire us to live out the teachings of Christ in our daily lives.

  • Witness 1 – YHWN.

    Witness 1 – YHWN.

Good day. Welcome to the 2nd day of 2024 Blogmas. Come along with me for the next 24 days to see various persons and personalities who bear witness to the trueness of Christmas.

The first witness is God Himself. The Yahweh ( YHWN). The I Am. The Holy One of Israel.

Shortly after, Adam and Eve partook in the tree of knowledge of good and evil, and God is a just God pronounced His judgment on all disobedient parties, He declared that there will be Christmas later in the history of the world that will foreshadow the victory of mankind over the old serpent by saying:

I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.
    Genesis 3:15 HCSB

Moreover, the testimony of the Almighty did not end there. He nonetheless declare later in the course of history that Christmas will happen by declaring openly that ‘…The virgin will conceive, have a son, and name him Immanuel.’
    (Isaiah 7:14 HCSB)

Furthermore, Yahweh didn’t just promise Christmas. He fulfilled His promise in the pages of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Hallelujah!

The lesson for us: even though you fumbled, fall into sin severally after multiple prayers of forgiveness or think you have over-sin beyond the mercy of God, the first Witness declares, you have no since beyond My grace to save, forgive, transform, rescue and declare holy.

Secondly, none of God’s promise will go unfulfilled. None. He promises Christmas and He delivers. Whatsoever, Yahweh promises you and me, be rest assured that He will make it come to fruition.

Put your trust in Him. He delivers.

See you tomorrow for witness 2.

20 Prayer Points To Secure Your Marriage Before It Begins.

One of the things I don’t joke with as a single (with or without partner) is prayer and one of such prayer is that, God Almighty, wherever my wife is , make it difficult for her to make a future-damaging mistake.

Believe me dear, that prayer was marvelously answered because God actually prevented her from many errors as He prevented me too from future-damaging mistakes.

Why all these stories? The moral is; Your marriage can be protected, preserved, prevented and saved from destiny destroyers, home breakers, potential outlaws that may want to disguise as in-laws, side chicks, sickness and what-have-you before you even have a fiance or fiancee.

You kids can be put under the shadow of the Almighty before you even know who their father or mother will be.

You can settle your partner’s friends, work, your neighbor when married, now before you know them.
