    5 Must Do Things during Christmas time.

    It’s day 9 already. Welcome to another episode of the 2022 Blogmas themed The love of Christ. I love you.

    Today, let’s discuss 5 spiritual activities for Christians during Christmas and after noel.

    First, we must believe like Mary. Like Mary believed the word of Angel Gabriel about immaculate conception, so we as believers must believe that God specializes in turning impossibilities into possibilities and that all His word is Yes and Amen.

    Mary asked the angel, “How can this be, since I have not been intimate with a man? ” The angel replied to her: “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore, the holy One to be born will be called the Son of God. For nothing will be impossible with God.” “I am the Lord’s slave,” said Mary. “May it be done to me according to your word.” Then the angel left her.
    Luke 1:34‭-‬35‭, ‬37‭-‬38 HCSB

    Furthermore, we have to trust like Joseph. Common! This guy has probably kept himself, spend on his relationship with Mary, have boasted of her chastity to friends, and probably sent a wedding IV, and here is his fiancee telling him she is pregnant. For who? For Holy Spirit? 🙄🙄🙄 But he trusts God through His angel that the Almighty got his best interest at heart.

    Are we ready to trust God by staying from premarital sex with the knowledge that it was His love that gave us that command?

    Are we ready to follow the Ancient of days injunction about love and submission in our marriage with the background that He adores orderliness?

    Are we going to rely on Him completely knowing that He can’t disappoint?

    So her husband Joseph, being a righteous man, and not wanting to disgrace her publicly, decided to divorce her secretly. But after he had considered these things, an angel of the Lord suddenly appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, don’t be afraid to take Mary as your wife, because what has been conceived in her is by the Holy Spirit. When Joseph got up from sleeping, he did as the Lord’s angel had commanded him. He married her but did not know her intimately until she gave birth to a son. And he named Him Jesus.

    If Joseph didn’t trust God at that point when it made no sense to do, he would have missed out on parenting the greatest human on earth – Jesus.

    Thirdly, our hope should be like that shepherds out on the filed of work.

    Here is an angel telling them what had never been heard before in human history, yet they rejoiced at the hope of seeing the Saviour of the world.



    In the same region, shepherds were staying out in the fields and keeping watch at night over their flock. Then an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid, for look, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people: Today a Savior, who is Messiah the Lord, was born for you in the city of David. When the angels had left them and returned to heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go straight to Bethlehem and see what has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.” They hurried off and found both Mary and Joseph, and the baby who was lying in the feeding trough. After seeing them, they reported the message they were told about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.

    Their hope lead to steps and the step taken made them become the first evangelists of the Good News.

    Dear never lose hope in Yahweh. He will never be late.

    We should hope for the restoration of Israel, the rapture of the church, the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and Resurrection of the righteous.

    Moreover, seek like the Wise men. Seek who? Seek Jesus like Wise men. To do what? To worship the King of kings

    After Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of King Herod, wise men from the east arrived unexpectedly in Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.”
    Matthew 2:1‭-‬2 HCSB

    They obviously don’t need the baby Jesus for any miracles, gifts or what they could get but to bow down and acknowledge His kingship.

    The command is to seek God early in the morning and at night, do not withhold.

    Seek him while He is near.


    In addition, let’s worship Jesus like the angels.

    How do they angels worship The I am that I?

    They worship passionately.

    They worship wholeheartedly.

    They worship by announcing His birth.

    Then an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid, for look, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people:

    They worship Him by declaring His eternal Holiness

    Then, lastly, love like the celebrant Jesus.

    “For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.

    My favorite thing about Christmas is who we are celebrating – my Lord Jesus Christ.

    2. WHAT DO YOU HATE ABOUT CHRISTMAS?

    I hate how reckless people get during the festive season. A LOT of accidents happen due to people drinking and driving, people get bankrupt because they borrow money that they can’t pay back – it’s just crazy and many people celebrating it are not even born again in the first instance.

    3. WHAT IS YOUR BEST CHRISTMAS YEAR SO FAR?

    My best Christmas year so far is 2021 because it is my first Christmas as married.

    4. WHAT DO YOU DO ON CHRISTMAS?

    I go to church. Arrived home to eat Christmas food of amala*, semovita or rice and chicken with the household and distribute in the neighbourhood then also expect Christmas’s food from our neighbours. 😄😃😄😃😄

    5. DO YOU HAVE A CHRISTMAS TRADITION?

    There are a lot of family Christmas traditions I grew up with but the one I like most is that one where we went from one relative’s family to another, eating and drinking.

    6. WISHLIST FOR NEXT CHRISTMAS?

    I wish that peace reigns throughout the world and the every hungry, naked and homeless individuals have something to eat, cover themselves and sleep. I know my wish is not too much.

    7. DO YOU BELIEVE IN SANTA?

    I don’t believe in a fairytale and most of the Christmas programs organised here involving Santa Claus is just an avenue to lie and siphon money from the unsuspecting public. I mean why lying that one father Christmas is coming from Rome when it is obviously that it is Mr. Tunde, my next door neighbour that is inside the cape?

    For both films, both the actors and the sets are highly professional and Christian with clean pictures.

    The movie is set in the time of ancient Oyo Ile of Alaafin and feature how King favorite wife was snatched by a wandering clothes weaver plus what happened after their elopement. You can head over to Netflix to watch. I guarantee you value for your money and time.

    Welcome to day 6 of 2022 Blogmas codenamed The Love of Christ. Thank for following.

    The only way to know Christ is via the Bible and you won’t see, hear and discover the power of Jesus if you don’t read the Word.

    Let’s discover the born King from the book of bible written by Dr. Luke and bearing his name.

    Now, Luke has 24 chapters. By reading a chapter, a day, you will wake up on Christmas day knowing everything there is to know about Jesus.

    Fortunately enough, we are now in 6th day of the month, so therefore, carefully read the first six chapters todays. I promise you, you won’t regret doing so.

    Four pillars of Christmas.

    Today is the fifth day of 2022 Blogmas titled The Love of Christ. Thank you for staying by.

    In the early 90s and close to early 20s, Christmas and New Year celebrations in my place were hinged on four things that make them worthwhile. We use to celebrate the moment with deep joy and gladness and I think it should be like that too now.

    With Christ being the foundation of all your Christmas celebrations as discussed yesterday, now, erect these four pillars on that surest foundation:

    #Pillar 1 – Family.

    Commemorate this moment with your family because of truth, the Christmas story is all about bringing the family of God together. Jesus grew up in a family. Involve all your household in preparing for celebrating the head of the house.

    #Pillar 2 – Food.

    Christmastime is not a day of fasting but a day of feasting and merriment. It is a season to eat and send some to those who don’t have any. Why? It’s a holy day to the Lord.

    Traditionally, Christmas is celebrated with such foods as rice and its varieties plus fried chicken, amala, semovita, and pounded yam with sumptuous soups like ewedu (jute allow), egusi, etc.

    We didn’t only cook and eat those foods but we also send some to our neighbors and receive some from them.

    Nigerian Jollof rice
    Amala and gbegiri

    Stay tuned on this channel to learn how to prepare some of these foods and you can also teach me how to prepare your traditional food in the comment section.

    #Pillar 3 – Touch

    There was this December program in Nigeria tagged Touching lives at Christmas. It holds annually during this period. The program is all above preaching Christ in some designated villages before and on Christmas.

    God touches our lives 2 millenniums ago during this season and he expects us to extend the touch to others by giving them love, hope, clothes, food, hugs, alms, salvation messages, etc.

    Dear friend, I urge you not to let this season pass without touching the life of someone with what God has blessed you with particularly the poor. They deserve a space in your budget list.

    #Pillar 4 – Fun.

    One of our hymn goes thus;

    Joy to the earth! The Saviour reigns;
    Let men their songs employ;
    While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains
    Repeat the sounding joy,
    Repeat the sounding joy,
    Repeat, repeat the sounding joy.

    That hymn connotes the herald of a joyous moment in heaven and on earth at the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.

    Christmastime is a joyous occasion and it deserves all the maximum enjoyment you can derive from it.

    Go to the orphanage and have fun. Go with your family and friends

    Go to the beach.

    Attend Christmas carols, school Reunions, and family meetings.

    Visit a museum or a cinema.

    Visit old people’s houses.

    Share the joy with those lying on hospital beds

    Visit your longtime friend.

    Have fun with the family, with others, and with your food.

    But make sure your fun is within what is permissible as a Christian.

    Today is the fourth day of the Love of Christ’s Blogmas. Thanks for always coming.

    The lyric of a popular hymn says, ‘On Christ the solid rock, I stand. All other grounds are sinking grounds.’

    The only solid rock for Christmas is Jesus. Any other rock is false rock.

    The only reason for celebrating Christmas is knowing the born King.

    The only accepted way of celebrating this season is celebrating in the will of God.

    Do you know Jesus? Did He know you? Have you accepted him as your lord and saviour?

    The Absurdities of Christmas.

    Not very many of us know that the story of Christmas is absurd and unbelievable but that mystery started right in Genesis. In fact Genesis 3.

    And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel…” The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them.
    Genesis 3:15‭, ‬21 NIV

    Yahweh started writing the absurdity of Christmas’ story immediately after man’s fall and what is that hullahubo?

    The absurdity of victory in that it was not man that declared or even desired victory over satan, it was God that declared it for mankind.

    And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel…” Genesis 3:15, NIV.

    Isn’t that absurd for you to declare victory for somebody who deliberately rebels again you with the help of your former employee?

    It was not man that declared victory or even desired it over satan, it was God that declared it for mankind.

    Secondly, the absurdity of love. Love that covers shame and spiritual nakedness orchestrated by willful disobedience and sin.

    The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them. Genesis 3:21, NIV.

    Imagine that great, overwhelming love of Christ? The most absurd part of it is that it was not even man that want to be loved, it was God that loved man even while he was still in sin.

    But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
    Romans 5:8 NIV.

    The animal that lost it life was representing the all-giving sacrifice of Christ.

    Meanwhile, the absurdity didn’t stop there it continues in Exodus with the absurdity of deliverance.

    The Lord said, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land…I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.”
    Exodus 3:7‭-‬8‭, ‬10 NIV

    God sees the suffering of his people. Suffering causes by sin, pride, lust, dissension, etc., and decided to rescue them through Moses – an old testament Jesus.

    God sees the mankind’s suffering and send Jesus to offer us the perfect gift of salvation and see to it that He expended everything – His only begotten Son, in His arsenal for mankind’s deliverance.

    Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals. And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?” But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it. I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”
    Revelation 5:1‭-‬5 NIV

    Should we talked about absurdity of humility. He was God yet He Himself left His holy abode to dwell in this filthy world, raised by a poor parents and enduring the frailties of human. Yet He didn’t absconded, He completed the work of salvation.

    Yet He went around healing, teaching and delivering.

    Yet He ate our food. Wore our miserable clothes. Relate with us. Rejoice with us and wept with us.

    While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
    Luke 2:6‭-‬7 NIV

    ✅ The absurdity of victory.

    ✅ The absurdity of love.

    ✅ The absurdity of deliverance.

    ✅ The absurdity of humility ans

    ✅ The absurdity of resurrection.

    Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!
    Philippians 2:6‭-‬11 NIV

    Then, the absurdity of resurrection. Deeply connected to the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ is His death and resurrection. In fact, if satan has known he wouldn’t have crucified the king of glory.

    Must He die before He saved us? He doesn’t but that it how He wished to do.

    With this seemingly mysteries about Christmas (for indeed the mysteries have been made known to the church), I am admonishing you to turn over your life to Christ (if you have never done so) or rededicate your life to Him now.

    He came to this world purposely for you. Because He loves you that is why He died for you so that your eyes of understanding might be open to the deep riches in Christ Jesus.

    That being said and today being the last day of 2022 Blogmas, I am urging you to let the love of Christ richly dwell in you. Gracious Christmas and a prosperous 2023.

    Welcome to day 2 of 2022 Blogmas titled The Love of Christ.

    Today, let’s delve into what is love of Christ.

    Many dictionaries defined love as a strong affection for something or someone therefore I will like to define Love of Christ as strong affection or passion, Christ has for us.

    The love of Christ is that while you and I were sinners, He die for us. While we are looking for any humanly possible means to approach our God, Christ became the only way to our father .

    Furthermore, His love also desire that none perishes. Jesus wants everybody saves.

    The Jesus kind of love guides us. He points out and draw us out of circumstances that may want to mar our destinies. At times, this may warrant the use of His ‘staff and rod.’

    Amazingly, the love of Christ compels us to reconcile with God.

    This love gives and keep giving. So, if He does not count it to hard to give us, His only begotten Son, what is that thing that will be to bard for Him to give us and what is that thing that will too hard for us to surrender at His feet?

    Lastly, during this Christmas, share the message of the love of Christ in our neighborhood, to our family, friends, colleagues and even enemies .
