Merry Christmas! It’s no coincidence that today’s chapter. Matthew 25 is all about readiness, stewardship, compassion, and kingdom reward. Christ has come, and now He calls us to live as people who belong to Him.
Yesterday in Matthew 24, we learned to stay watchful. Today, Matthew 25 shows us HOW:
1. The Ten Virgins Spiritually Prepared
“The bridegroom was a long time in coming… the wise took oil in jars.” Matthew 25:4
Life in Him requires spiritual oil consistent intimacy, prayer, Word, obedience.
2. The Talents, Steward What God Gave You
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:21
Christmas reminds us that God gave His Son. Our response is to give Him our gifts, time, grace, service, resources.
3. The Sheep and Goats. Love Practically
“I was hungry and you gave Me food… Whatever you did for the least of these, you did for Me.” Matthew 25:35,40
Life in Him is visible in compassion.
This links deeply with the entire journey from Day 1 until now: Life in Him is watching, waiting, loving, serving, and becoming like Christ.
And today we celebrate His birth, the One who came so we can have LIFE in His name.
CALL TO ACTION
On this Christmas Day, choose one intentional act of love for someone who cannot repay you. Let Christ shine through you.
From love being our kingdom culture, Matthew 23 exposes the opposite: hypocrisy.
Jesus speaks directly firmly but lovingly to the religious elites:
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!” Matthew 23:13
He unveils the danger of outward spirituality without inward transformation. Life in Him is authenticity. It is integrity. It is allowing Christ to shape the inside first.
He says:
“You clean the outside of the cup… but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.” Matthew 23:25
This connects with Day 22: Love must begin in the heart, not surface.
Jesus ends the chapter lamenting over Jerusalem: “How often I wanted to gather your children together… but you were not willing.” Matthew 23:37
Life in Him means yielding to His gathering embrace.
CALL TO ACTION
Ask God to expose any area where you appear spiritual outwardly but need healing inwardly. Pray for His cleansing
From welcoming the King in Day 21, today Matthew 22 teaches us what the King truly values: LOVE.
The Pharisees and Sadducees try to trap Jesus with theological questions, but He silences them with clarity and authority.
When asked about the greatest commandment, He replies:
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart… And love your neighbour as yourself.” Matthew 22:37–39
This is the core of Life in Him: Not performance. Not religious debates. Not doctrinal gymnastics.
LOVE.
Love for God. Love for people. Love that transforms behaviour and motives.
Jesus also shares the parable of the wedding banquet reminding us that God has invited everyone, but not everyone values the invitation. Life in Him requires honouring the call of God over complacency.
This ties to Day 21: If Jesus is King, then love is our kingdom culture.
CALL TO ACTION
Today, intentionally show love: a message, a prayer, a gift, a forgiveness. Love is the proof of your walk with Him.
Yesterday in Matthew 20, Jesus redefined greatness as service. Today in Matthew 21, that servant King enters Jerusalem, not on a war horse, but on a donkey. The chapter opens with fulfilment:
“Behold, your King is coming to you, humble, and mounted on a donkey.” Matthew 21:5
Life in Him means recognising Jesus not only as Saviour but as King.
As He entered Jerusalem, people cried:
“Hosanna to the Son of David!” Matthew 21:9
“Hosanna” means Save us now. This links beautifully with yesterday’s lesson: true greatness is found in the One who came not to be served, but to serve.
But almost immediately, Jesus cleanses the temple. He confronts corruption and restores purity. Life in Him is both celebration and cleansing. He enters joyfully but also overturns what dishonours God.
He ends the chapter warning the religious leaders with parables of responsibility and accountability. Life in Him is stewardship. It demands fruit.
CALL TO ACTION
Welcome Jesus intentionally today. Invite Him to cleanse anything in your “temple” your heart, habits, or priorities that needs His touch.
Yesterday we saw the glory of Christ. Today, Matthew 18 brings us down the mountain into the everyday reality of relationships.
Jesus begins with humility, placing a child before His disciples:
“Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:4
Life in Him is practical. It is relational. It shapes how we treat people, forgive people, and even discipline ourselves.
Jesus teaches about:
Offenses
Forgiveness
Restoring lost brothers
Dealing with sin
Unlimited mercy
Peter asks how many times we should forgive, and Jesus answers:
“Seventy times seven.” Matthew 18:22
Yesterday, we saw God’s glory. Today, He shows us what that glory looks like in human relationships, humility, patience, forgiveness, and reconciliation.
CALL TO ACTION
Think of someone who has offended you. Pray for them today. Even if you can’t reconcile yet, start with prayer.
From the revelation of Christ in Matthew 16, today in Matthew 17, God elevates our vision even higher; the Transfiguration.
Jesus takes Peter, James, and John up a mountain and reveals His divine glory. Scripture says:
“His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light.” Matthew 17:2
This is God’s reminder: The One we follow is not ordinary. The One we surrender to is not weak. The One who calls us to carry our cross is FULL of glory.
This connects deeply with yesterday’s lesson: surrender becomes easier when we see His glory.
Then a voice from heaven says:
“This is My beloved Son… listen to Him!” Matthew 17:5
Life in Him requires listening. His words guide us through valleys, storms, doubts, and decisions.
The chapter ends with Jesus addressing unbelief. He says:
“Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20
Revelation → Glory → Power for living.
CALL TO ACTION
Today, ask God for a fresh revelation of His glory. Pray: “Lord, open my eyes that I may see You.”
Yesterday in Matthew 14, we saw Jesus reveal Himself as the One who meets us in storms and multiplies what we surrender. Today, Matthew 15 continues this journey by showing us that walking with Jesus is not just about storms outside but storms inside—our traditions, motives, and hidden heart issues.
In this chapter, Jesus confronted the Pharisees who valued human rules above God’s heart. He declared plainly:
“These people honour me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.” — Matthew 15:8
This is a wake-up call. Life in Him demands more than activities, appearances, or Christian culture. It requires a heart aligned with His.
Jesus goes on to explain that external things are not what defile a person, but what flows out of the heart, our words, motives, and intentions. This links strongly with yesterday’s lesson: God is more interested in transforming us within than impressing us outwardly.
And then, like a beam of grace, we meet the Canaanite woman – desperate, persistent, humble. She is everything the Pharisees were not. Her faith transcended boundaries, and Jesus responded:
“Woman, great is your faith!” Matthew 15:28
Life in Him isn’t about qualification; it’s about hunger. It isn’t about tradition; it’s about trust.
CALL TO ACTION
Today, ask the Holy Spirit to expose any tradition, habit, or mindset that keeps your heart from Him. Surrender it. Pray like the Canaanite woman: “Lord, help me.”
