  • Compassion That Moves

Coming from Matthew 8 where Jesus calmed storms Matthew 9 shows Jesus calming the storms inside people.

    He forgives a paralytic.
    He restores a bleeding woman.
    He raises a dead girl.
    He opens blind eyes.

    At the end, Matthew writes:
“When He saw the crowds, He had compassion on them…”  Matthew 9:36

Storms were not only around people; many storms were within them.
And Jesus responded with compassion every time.

LIFE IN HIM means allowing His compassion to flow through us to others.

  • How being Kyle XY Father deepen My faith.

Some bible verse won’t make much sense to you till you are in the heat of it – practicing it.

One of such verse is Jesus’ saying ‘… Except you become like one of these children, you cannot entered the kingdom of God.’

Now, being a father to Kyle XY makes me fully grasp the importance of that saying.

First, kids copy-cat a lot. Anything his mum and I do, he will definitely want to repeat it.

Put a bottle on a cabinet, he will try to remove it and repeat the process.

Sweep a portion of the kitchen, he will go and take the broom and want to do his.

He just want to do what we do.

This taught me a vital lesson to dutifully follow in Christ’s footsteps as my boy does with us.

Moreover, on the flip side, Kyle XY knows the next step after a particular house chore.

Once, his mum brings out broom, he will go for the dustpan.

If it’s pot, he goes for pot.

Water on the floor. Dragging mopping stick with us is the next thing.

Talk about being in tune with God is doing and saying per season. That’s

The third way my faith was better for it because I’m a father is the aspect of total trust.

When we are with him, he will playfully move to the bed edge wanting to jump but when he is alone, he won’t dare.  Why? Because he knows for a fact that we won’t let him hurt himself.

He may want to play with electrical socket but we won’t allow that.

He may want to do hurting things to himself but he trusts us not to leave him to them.

I may want to self ruin but I trust my God. He won’t allow that.

Furthermore, if my boy needs anything, his first ask is from us, his parents. Talk about dependence because we are duty bound to provide for his needs.

Brother and sister, God is more than enough to be depended on because he cares for you more than we can care for our son.

Another one is love of discipline. If he was disciplined some hours ago, that does mean he won’t come to ask for his needs or play with us as his parents.

No sulking. No disownment. No unforgiveness. Nothing comes in between our relationship because of corrections. And we apologized to our 1½ years old son if we are in the wrong.

No wonder, Bible says, ‘ My son, do not reject your Father’s correction. For the son the Father loves, He disciplines,’ and ‘Nothing can separate us from the love of Christ…’

As my son is eternally assured of my love so I am of, of our Heavenly Father.

Lastly, that Bible’s portion that says, ‘worry not.’ The only category obeying that command are kids.

They are less concerned with US elections, inflation, prices of prescription drugs, immigration, etc. That’s our worries.

My boy knows I will take care of him. So, zero worries.

I now leave God to do the worries for me while I enjoy his cares.

Isn’t all these attributes God is expecting from a Heaven seeker?

Lastly, How has fatherhood/motherhood better your faith?

  • The National Delegates.

    The National Delegates.

The President of a nation on a journey to settle his subject on a good land decided to scout the land purposely to establish the veracity of the claim to his subjects.

The essence of the scouting is never about him but about his people who see before believing.

Now, to do this, he selected 12 intelligent, Harvard-trained, well travelled and educated men to go and confirm what he has said about their new homes.

Off, they went and to be kind to them, they never have it easy on their 3-months journey.

Some of the challenges they encountered on the way including; the descendants of Anakim (Giants), fortified walls, populated cities, inter-tribal wars here and there, pagans with barbaric cultures and many other difficulties too numerous to highlight.

Needless to say, the journey was not all gloomy, for they saw a land flowing with milk and honey, a supportive climate for their occupation, a land that produced in thousands agriculturally, rivers, streams and springs that produce water in and out of season and many others advantages that time will not permit mentioning.

All the words of the president were confirmed.

After 3 months, the national delegates returned to report to the whole country. It was to be a live broadcast.

10 of 12 reported that though the land is as you told us, sir, even more than you said but we met the cannibalistic giants therein, there were high walls, and the people there are powerful (they didn’t engage in any fight along the way, how they knew that those people are more powerful than them battled me sef 🙆‍♀️🙆‍♀️🙆‍♀️). We were grasshoppers, those people will just trample on us like ants.

This caused a national uproar instantly, both on and offline, but the 2 remaining delegates rushed to grab the mic and reported all the advantages of the scouted land highlighting the fact all the disadvantages reported by the first 10 are actually to their advantages

They encouraged them not to forget that they have conquered better fortified wall, more numerous and tall people/nations before and that they should not forget the word and helps of their president’s Godfather who also doubled as their National Patron while singing this song, ‘ count your blessings, name them one by one and you will be surprised at what the Lord has done…’

Meanwhile, while the 2 were addressing the press, somebody tweeted ‘off the mic‘ on them and like a harmattan fire, it trended on all social media platforms #onthemic.

Those that were in the hall where the press was being addressed have picked stones for the 2.

Those online have started issuing threats to them.

Protests has filled all the major streets.

International media houses have started carrying the news.

The 2 delegates would have been lynched had it not been for the intervention of their president and his vice.

Las las, since they did not believe the word of their president as sent to them by their Patron, the Patron promised to rescind his help to them in terms of power and GPS to navigate the road untill they received sense.

He also told them none of protestors will get to the land except the 2 that believe him.

In fact, if not for plead of the President and his Vice, the patron has vowed to completely abandon them.

Finally, of all the over a million of them, only 2 entered the promised land.

    Ponder on these questions:

    1. Whose reports will you believe? God, human, breaking news, circumstances, etc.

    2. What are seeing currently in the present situation?

    3. Do you remember that the God of yesterday is the God of tomorrow?

    Thanks for reading.

  • What is faith?

I learned something spectacular today at the Men Missionary Union meeting.

Lmaaooo 😀😄😀! I have sworn before that I will never attend one till I am 50 (a story for another day sha).

Back to my story, the theme for the year was taking over territories while today’s topic was faith.

We defined faith as trusting God to do what is right. Not what we wanted or asked but trusting Him that He will do what is right for us at His right time for His right purpose.

It struck a chord in me. Trusting God to do what is right.

Dear friend, I can’t tell you the Almighty will grant everything you asked him but I can assure you, He will do the right thing for you.

He will bring the right man.

He will make the right job materialize for you.

He will provide the right opportunity for your assignment and assistance.

May the grace of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit abides with us now and forever more. Amen.
