It’s day 18 already and we are readdddddy to learnnnnnnnnn again. Remember to share, link and comment on this.
Chapter 18 of the Gospel of Saint Luke starts with the importance of consistent prayer.
[1] He then told them a parable on the need for them to pray always and not become discouraged: Luke 18:1 HCSB
Therefore I am urging you to use this today to pray for someone.
You can #PrayforNigeria, #PrayforUkraine, #PrayforEthiopia #PrayfortheGazanChildren
The chapter stills continue on the need to pray a humble prayer because boastful ones won’t even hit the ceilings.
[14] I tell you, this one went down to his house justified rather than the other; because everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.” Luke 18:14 HCSB
The children shouldn’t be left behind because, ’Jesus, however, invited them: “Let the little children come to Me, and don’t stop them, because the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I assure you: Whoever does not welcome the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” Luke 18:16-17 HCSB
ARE YOU THE ONLY ONE TO BE PREGNANT THAT YOU SALIVATING?
Welcome to another episode of #TalesofANursingDad.
Let me tell you a story. The person who defines fear as fake expectations appearing real deserve two cups of garium sulphate😄😄
Before I got married, one thing I feared and prayed against most is my wife probably spitting saliva when pregnant and having unwholesome cravings.
I knew pregnancy symptoms different in different women. I have also seen pregnant women who drool (some even with a bottle they spit in in their bags 😔).
The sights of those saliva bottles and handkerchiefs were so disgusting and irritable to me.
I can’t just stand the sight of it.
But lo and behold, mummy Kyle-XY never drool for a minute though out the gestation period and no unholy desires. 😍😍😍
See, your fears are legit but they are not real.
They are fake expectations appearing real.
Most of your fears won’t happen. Many of them are unrealistic.
Therefore, marry first before being afraid of what your family will eat.
Travel first before you complained of accidents.
Record and upload that videos, then worry about views.
Write that book and then worry about buyers.
Most of your fears are fake expectations and even if they eventually happened, you can withstand them.
Even if mummy Kyle-XY demanded Red Sea crocodile pepper soup, shey I get a choice not to provide for her ni?
Had she drolled, shey I go run away ni?
May God empowers us to be courageous to take the next step in Jesus’ name.
I have heard and read about many pregnancy tales – inordinate food cravings, ‘crazy’ behaviour, uncontrollable appetite and different funny and not-so-funny pregnancy journey.
When my elder sister was pregnant, from day one till delivery, she was spitting saliva. Apologies, but it puked me and make me pray a funny simple prayer – ‘ God, please don’t let my wife spit during pregnancy oooo,’ and God did answer it.
My wife didn’t spit nor did she have any inordinate cravings during the duration.
Screengrab from Facebook.
What are the lessons I want you to learn from this episode of #talesofANursingDad; one, God answers prayers even the real funny ones. Even if she spit during the pregnancy, God still answered my prayer.
In addition, pregnancy experiences differ. That she didn’t spit doesn’t mean yours will not and that she didn’t spit now doesn’t mean she won’t in subsequent ones. Therefore, never belittle the experience of nursing and or waiting-for moms. The shoes pinch differently.
Nursing mums and dads, can you share your pregnancy experiences in the comment section?

This is the 4th article on our treatise of God’s will. In part One, I defined God’s will as God’s command, instructions, likes, dislikes, guidelines and don’ts and dos.
Then in the second part, we discussed types of God’s will, e.g., sovereign will of God, commanded will of God, expected will of God, etc., while the third part highlighted God’s will as it concerns your relationships – be it marital or filial ones.
Now, this thing called God’s will, how do I know it and how I do I do it?
The only way to know His will is by reading His word – the Bible. Everything God has to say concerning anything to human beings, He has said and documented it in Bible.
Therefore, everything you wish to know about God himself, his works, what he likes or hates, how to do relationship with parents, siblings, unbelievers, believers, masters, slaves, employers and employees, etc., you got no choice than to read your Bible.
I have treasured Your word in my heart so that I may not sin against You. Psalms 119:11 HCSB
Don’t just read, meditate the word
I will recommend Youversion Bible app for your mobile Bible app. I’m using the Bible App. Download it now for your mobile device by clicking the red line.
Furthermore, be the doer of what you have read. You will not be justified for reading and meditating but be justified by doing what you read.
But be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. Because if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man looking at his own face in a mirror. For he looks at himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. James 1:22-24 HCSB
What can help you do the word? Join a Bible believing Church, having a Bible believing and doing friends, read Christian books and sermons.
Additionally, if you think you can do God’s will by wishing or liking to do them, dear, you will fail. By the power of the flesh, no one will prevail. Because your body called Mr flesh that you are carrying just what to disobey God. He is anti-God. He wants to do what God forbids him to do but prayer can help you to put it under subjugation to you.
Prayers make release of grace, power and enablement to do God’s will.
Prayer will be made doing it easy for you and by praying you are simply acknowledging your deficiency for God’s sufficiency. In fact, ‘thy will be done on earth as it’s in heaven,’ is a prayer line taught by Jesus Himself.
Lastly, the greatest of Divine will is that you make it home to his feet at the end of the world. He wants you to receive the gift of salvation as bought for you by Jesus. The basis of starting to do God’s will starts with confessing Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior and ends with staying in Him till the end of the ages.
Let’s pray: Oh Lord, everlasting Rock of ages, let Your will be done in my life in Jesus name.
Let me tell you a story that happened to me in my final year in University. It is a story of how a firend make my final year, easy and smooth-free.
Getting to 500l is already tiresome but being in that last lap with a laptop is stressful and here I am without one and with no money to buy one.
My prayers for my friends.
But a friend gave me her laptop at a very reduced price after a brief chit-chat with her on a general issue which veered off to laptop’s matter.
You purchased the thing now? If she didn’t sell at that giveaway price, I wouldn’t be able to afford one. I count it as her parting gift and that gift made the final year awesome for me.
For doing that, I won’t forget her.
Now, ask yourself the following questions:
Should I have friends?
Must I have friends? Talkless of having close-knit friends?
What are the essences, benefits and usefulness of friends?
Do I have friends? Are they good friends?
Are mine a good friend?
You may be surprised that I am asking you all those questions. Of course, you have a friend(s) – some casual and some deep. I too have friends across religious, cultural and tribal divides that have spanned more than 20 years.
Recently, I was reading the portion of the Bible where a paralytic man was taken to Jesus Healing and Teaching Crusade and they couldn’t find a way to get him to Jesus but they did something that always amazed me about friends and friendship. Instead of returning their friends home, they did the impossible and the unexpected.
The paralytic man being carried by his friends to Jesus teaching and healing crusade.
When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus. When Jesus saw their faith… So he said to the paralyzed man, “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” Immediately he stood up in front of them, took what he had been lying on and went home praising God. Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God. They were filled with awe and said, “We have seen remarkable things today.” Luke 5:19 – 26 NIV
Because of this man’s friends, 4 things happened:
He was healed
He was forgiven of his sin
He praised God.
People praised God.
And that is how God wants your friendship to be.
A friend in need, is a friend indeed.
God made us want and need friendship. But some friendships got entangled in comparison and competition. Some friendships lack healthy boundaries while some friendships need a tune up and some need to be cancelled. (How to have healthy friendships’ devotional plan emphasis mine) but first who is a friend?
Fun-fact: The word friend was mentioned 155 times in the Bible.
According to Advanced Oxford Dictionary, a friend is a person you know very well and regard with affection and trust.
Secondly, why should we even have friends? The purposes of friendship are numerous, some of them are:
1. Friends are useful for carrying us.
Like the paralytic man in Luke 5, we all need friends who will carry us in prayers, words of encouragement, helps, supports and advice like most of David’s friends.
2. We are Relational Beings.
God did not create anyone to be stand-alone. He created us to have a relationship with Him and fellow human beings like us (father, mother, brother, sister and friend). So one of the channels of fulfilling that purpose of God is through quality friendship.
3. To solve problem together.
Since you can’t be alone courtesy of the fact that you are a relational being, God doesn’t want you to tackle the problem alone. He doesn’t want you to bottle up the feeling. He wants you to talk to someone who is in the best position to hear your real and unreal cries and who is the best position, if not someone you regard with affection and trust?
4. Friends are constant lovers.
Like that age-long proverb that says that a friend in need, is a friend indeed. A good friend loves you like Jonathan loves David. He/she also desires and strives to have you as a better individual.
A friend loves at all time… Proverbs 17:17 (AMP).
5. Even God have friends.
God have friends. Abraham is God’s friend, so is David. So therefore if we have friends, we are God-like.
Jesus even called us His friends, if we obey Him (John 15:14-15).
The cloud of witnesses about us have friends while they are in these mortal bodies.
6. Friends help our ‘visions.’
I needed a friend to see what I couldn’t. The truth. So often we look at the details all over the landscape—the millions of trees. And we miss the forest. Those overarching truths that cover us and provide shade and security and keep us grounded.
Now to answer, our question, we should have friends albeit good ones.
In conclusion, the question before you and mine now is; are mine a good friend to my friend or not? Do I even have good friends?
